The Intention
We have so many memorable experiences at the farm that we wanted to share with everyone. Our goal is for you to immerse your guests in a true up north experience with a panoramic vista of the Jordan Valley and a home town, rustic feel on a functioning family farm. We hope to deliver a customizable experience to suit your personal style and provide unforgettable memories.
The Location
Our northern Michigan wedding barn and event venue is located in East Jordan, Michigan where we have fantastic views overlooking the beautiful Jordan River Valley. The barn, built in the early 1900's, has been undergoing renovations since 2016. It is just under 5,000 square feet and can hold up to 250 people. Some of our renovations include a brand-new roof, bathroom facilities, a bar with three beer tap hookups, and a beautiful stone patio with a view of the valley. Our barn creates the perfect venue for a rustic, yet tasteful and elegant wedding or special occasion.
The Farm
What makes our venue special is that it is still a fully functioning farm. Valley View Farm started as a dairy farm in 1970. Today, we farm 400 acres of barley, wheat, hay, oats, and corn. Since northern Michigan is booming with microbreweries, we recently began growing and selling barley to local breweries for beer making. We also converted the old milk house into a malt house where we malt some of the barley and craft it into our own brews. Truly a farm to glass experience, the beer is grown, malted, and brewed on the same property – so it never leaves the farm.
The Owners
The farm has been family owned for the past 50 years. Farming has always been a passion in the Boyer family, and in 2004 John and Melissa Boyer purchased it from John’s father. With the popularity of barn weddings, the Boyers expanded even further to renovate one of their barns into a beautiful venue for weddings and other events.
